We have recently received confirmation that we have been successful in two of our grant applications.
We would like to thank the Community Chest for their grant of £250 towards the purchase of an environmentally friendly, non-cable heavy duty strimmer that will enable us to not only maintain the grass around trees and shrubs, but also keep the swale blooming but tidy.
Cambridge Water have also awarded us a grant of £250 from their Pebble Fund to develop the area around the pond, the mound and the area between the wood as a nature friendly biodiverse space filled with native species.
The area is being developed with advice from the Council Biodiversity Officer. The Garden is part of the natural green corridor from the Community Orchard and beyond to the West of the Garden and Hobson Brook and Hobson Park to the East. We aim to engage Trumpington Park Primary School in the future use and development of the area for learning activities.
