Madingley Mulch, at the request of the Council, delivered 17 bags of spent mushroom compost on Friday. More is due to arrive soon! Made from a mix of composted straw and animal manure, this type of compost is good for improving the structure and aeration of heavy clay soil and boosting drainage – much needed to improve the poor quality soil in the West garden.
During Saturday volunteers began to weed and spread compost on the West Garden
At the end of the day only 5 of the first 17 bags remained 🎉
On Sunday work was cancelled due to heavy rain, but will continue through the week – let us know if you can help please.
