On Sunday 11th January the Community Garden joined in with the Trumpington Community Orchard celebrating the ancient Anglo-Saxon tradition of Wassailing fruit trees .
Led by the Lord of Misrule, families and friends gathered at the Orchard to toast the orchard trees pouring mulled apple juice over the foot of each tree and hanging toast on the branches to encourage a good healthy harvest for the autumn. 
All then processed to the Community Garden, where hot mulled apple juice helped to ward off the cold and damp that didn’t dampen the enthusiasm of those singing, dancing, and toasting the Garden fruit trees.
