On Thursday April 10th second year ARU students presented their “walking” drama “The Magic Seed” in the Community Garden.
The seed of an idea was sown during their visits to hear about the birth of the Garden and Community Orchard and learn more about their history weaving this into what became a fully-fledged performance.
This is a video about the history.
The sun shone down on a packed audience of adults and children as they were led through the Garden by Kit who gradually brings others along to creating a community to stand in the eye of the coming storm and defeat disaster by working together, planting in a spirit of hope, rooting out the weeds of pessimism.
Children were invited to seek out hidden wildflower seeds donated by the local Wildlife Trust to scatter in the Garden orchard or take home to create their own patches of nature inspired by the spirit of the Garden.

A huge thank you to the students and their leaders for a show that illustrated how, just one small seed of Hope can create a community of people working together to cause a once barren piece of infertile land to blossom into a beautiful place for all.
