The past couple of weeks have been very busy with planting, watering, weeding, and watching the grass grow. It is a huge satisfaction to see how the work of all our volunteers is paying off in getting a beautiful green space.
Have you met our new permanent residents yet? We have a group of 4-5 male and 1 female ducks now staying regularly in our pond, and occasionally dropping in at the allotments to eat some juicy greens.
Right, back on track with an update on the construction stuff! The building is proceeding slow, even in hot sunny weather. We’re now told that it should be water-tight by 12 July when they will start adding doors and windows. So realistically we won’t have a building until August, but probably September.
The good news is that on Monday 14 the works will start on the new cycle path connecting the Busway with Pinnington Close. This work will surely create some inconvenience, but please be patient, as it will bring a great and long-waited improvement to the area!
